An easy slow cooker chili recipe that's done in 3 steps. Full of flavor and sure to be a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 cup yellow onion diced
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 10 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 16 oz can black beans
  • 16 oz can red kidney beans
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cumin
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne optional

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, add the olive oil and chopped onion. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet with the onion and cook for 5 - 7 minutes, until browned.
  • Add all ingredients, including cooked onion and beef, to a slow cooker. Stir well to mix. Cover and cook on high for 5 - 6 hours or low for 6 - 7 hours, stirring occasionally.
