Top Tips for Cooking Sheet Pan Dinners

Sheet pan dinners are naturally easy because you toss everything on one large pan and throw it in the oven. They’re hard to do wrong!

Here’s a couple tips to make sure that your sheet pan dinners are cooked to perfection. You can get away without doing these things, but they’ll help avoid common errors and extra mess.

Line the bottom of your sheet pan with aluminum foil

Before you add any ingredients to your pan, line it with a sheet of aluminum foil. This will make for easy cleanup later (simply remove the foil and you have a clean sheet underneath.

Chop ingredients into equal sizes

For each ingredient, chop equal sized chunks to make sure that they cook through at the same rate.

Turn over your ingredients

Depending on the cook time of your recipe, about half way through turn over the ingredients in your sheet pan to make sure that everything cooks even and completely. You don’t usually need to do this with meats, but it will help your veggies from burning on the bottom or not cooking through.
