Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

These are chewy, soft, delicious oatmeal raisin cookies. They are easy to make and are the ultimate classic oatmeal raisin cookie.


Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp butter, softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ¾ cup flour
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt 
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon 
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 4 tbsp milk 
  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats 
  • ¾ cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a nonstick cookie sheet. 
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. 
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until combined. 
  4. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. 
  5. Beat the flour mixture into the butter mixture. Add the milk and mix to combine. 
  6. Stir in the raisins and oatmeal.
  7. Drop heaping teaspoon-fulls onto the baking sheet and bake for 12 – 14 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack.
