About The Recipe

This is a quick and easy recipe that takes roasted brussel sprouts to the next level. They’re flavorful and sweet, with plenty of crispy and caramelized edges.

For best results, use a balsamic glaze rather than balsamic vinegar because it’s thicker! But either option is tasty.

Whether you’re a fan of roasted brussel sprouts or have yet to find a brussel sprout recipe that you like – you’ll love this recipe!

Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Balsamic Ingredients

There’s 6 ingredients needed for this recipe:

  • 1 lb brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon balsamic glaze (or balsamic vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

How to Cook Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Balsamic

This recipe is ready in 4 simple steps. Here’s a quick breakdown of how to cook brussel sprouts with balsamic.

Step 1:

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

Step 2:

Cut the stems off of the brussels sprouts and chop them in half. If you have large brussel sprouts, chop them into quarters so that the sprouts are even in size and cook consistently.

Step 3:

Line a baking sheet with foil. On the baking sheet or in a bowl, toss the brussels sprouts with the olive oil, balsamic, honey, salt and pepper.

Step 4:

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 – 30 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Bake until the brussel sprouts are tender when pierced with a fork and slightly crispy on their outer leaves.

How to Roast Brussel Sprouts

The best way to roast brussel sprouts is to bake them in the oven for about 25 minutes. Basic roasted brussel sprouts are coated in olive oil, salt and pepper. This recipe also adds balsamic glaze and honey for some extra flavor!

Don’t forget to chop your sprouts in half and flip them halfway through the baking time. For well done brussel sprouts, leave them in the oven longer, until the outer leaves are crispy and dark brown.

A Note on Using Balsamic Glaze

This recipe can be made with balsamic glaze or balsamic vinegar. Balsamic glaze is thicker and gives this recipe a sweeter, stronger flavor. You can usually find balsamic glaze at the store in the same aisle as the balsamic vinegar. Or you can make your own using balsamic vinegar and maple syrup: recipe here.

Either balsamic glaze or balsamic vinegar will work. If you’re craving a sweeter, thicker texture for your sprouts, use a balsamic glaze.

You can also sprinkle additional glaze or vinegar on top of your brussel sprouts just before serving them. Drizzle a little bit on top for some added flavor.

Thanks for sharing! This is so easy and turned out delicious! The balsamic glaze and honey makes it 👌 My oven gets hot and my Brussels were on the smaller side so mine were perfect roasting for 15 minutes without flipping.
