What Is Golden Milk?

Golden Milk (also known as Turmeric Milk) is a drink known for its health benefits and yellow color (which comes from the Turmeric). Golden Milk contains a mix of turmeric, cinnamon and ginger — all herbs with various health-boosting properties.

Golden Milk Latte Ingredients

This golden milk latte recipe is simple and creamy with a hint of sweetness.

The full recipe is at the bottom of this page, but here’s a quick breakdown of the ingredients & how it’s made.

Here’s what you’ll need to make this Golden Milk Latte:

  • 1 cup oat milk (or any kind of milk!), heated
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey (This is optional for sweetness. You can also use other natural sweeteners like stevia, agave syrup, or maple syrup)

Plus a blender to blend everything together (or if you don’t have a blender on hand, whisk the ingredients together in a bowl).

How to Make a Golden Milk Latte

STEP 1: Heat 1 cup of oat milk (or your choice of milk) in the microwave or on the stovetop.

STEP 2: Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until combined.

Health Benefits of Golden Milk Lattes

Golden Milk is loaded with superfoods and known for its health benefits. Not only is is tasty, it’s good for you too.

Here’s 2 of the top key benefits of golden milk:

1. Anti-Inflammatory benefits

Each of the spices in Golden Milk — cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric — are known for their anti-inflammatory properties.

The main ingredient in Golden Milk is Turmeric, which has the active ingredient curcumin — a potent anti-inflammatory ingredient (source). The effects of curcumin are so strong that they have been show to be comparable to anti-inflammatory pharmaceuticals (source).

2. Full of Anti-Oxidants

Turmeric, ginger and cinnamon all have anti-oxidant properties. Anti-oxidants play a role in protecting your body from infections and disease — and consuming anti-oxidants is linked to lowering your risk of these.

Yes, it’s so good iced!! You would skip the step of heating your milk and pour it into a glass full of ice cubes to chill it. Perfect for hot days 🙂
